Hi, my name is Sati Heer-Stavert. I’m a clinician working in the UK with an interest in philosophy and its relevance to health care.

This site includes a few of the tutorials I run with my students and some of the issues I might discuss with my colleagues. They aren’t traditionally found in medical school curricula or many postgraduate medical courses.

Unexamined Medicine provides me with an opportunity to experiment with ideas and clarify my own thoughts. Another objective of this site is to stimulate discussion and reflection. One way of doing this is to highlight material which may be considered provocative. Posting an item does not mean that I agree with it. However,  I do agree that it should be read, dissected and debated.

I hope that other doctors might find the site useful in their own learning or planning tutorials for trainees. I’ll aim to upload something every month or so.

All my opinions on this site are not affiliated to my current or previous places of work.
